Aster Referral Code (2026): How the Fee Rebate Works
Program terms verified against official Aster docs on 2026-07-17.
Aster runs a standard referral program: sign up through a referral link and the person who referred you can choose to pass back part of their commission as a fee discount. This page lays out exactly what's fixed by Aster, what's up to the referrer, and how to activate it. For everything else about the exchange, see our full Aster review; for what can go wrong trading perps in general, read our risk disclosure.
What you can get
Aster pays whoever refers you a commission on your trading fees — 10% by default. That referrer can then configure a split of their own commission to pass back to you as a fee discount; Aster's own referral marketing page advertises this as "up to a 10% rebate" for invitees. The important word is up to: the split is the referrer's choice, not a number Aster guarantees to every invitee. Some referrers pass back a meaningful share — for example, splitting 5% back as a discount — while others keep the full commission themselves. Nothing in Aster's public terms sets a minimum.
Our referral code (yw38QB) is live. One benefit is verifiable straight from
the invite page itself: signing up through our link carries a 1.2x trading-points
boost under Aster's current points stage. On the fee-rebate side, the split is
configured on our referrer dashboard — we're stating the exact percentage here as soon as
it's confirmed, rather than quoting a number we haven't verified. Aster's own advertised
ceiling for invitees remains "up to a 10% rebate."
How to activate
Two conditions apply. First, you need to be a new user: the referral relationship only attaches to accounts created through the referral link — it can't be added to an account you already have. Second, once set, the relationship holds for 365 days by default from signup, covering whatever trading you do in that window.

How the program works on both sides
Strip out the marketing language and the mechanics are simple. Aster takes referred trading fees and pays the referrer a commission — 10% of those fees by default. High-volume referrers who qualify can earn an upgraded rate: 20% on fees from referees who reach VIP 1, and 10% on fees from referees at VIP 2 and above. The referrer can then choose to redirect part of that commission back to the referee as a fee discount; whatever isn't redirected stays with the referrer — that's how we'd earn from this page.
Nothing about your execution, fills, or the fees Aster charges you directly changes beyond the configured rebate — the discount comes out of the referrer's commission, not something Aster adds on top. Per Aster's documentation, commissions are calculated and paid out by the following day, in the same asset the referee paid trading fees in. Liquidation fees, self-trade volume, and zero-fee trade volume are all excluded from the calculation, and Aster prohibits self-referral.
Also worth knowing
Two details worth factoring in before a referral rebate changes your decision. First, Aster charges 0% maker fees on both of its perpetual contract families — see our Aster fees breakdown — so if you trade mostly as a maker, you'll generate very little fee volume for any referral commission to apply to. The rebate matters most to takers, not makers. Second, Aster separately offers a discount for paying fees in its own ASTER token. That's a different mechanism, set by Aster's fee schedule rather than by a referral code — treat the two as separate levers, and check Aster's own fee page for how they interact on your account.
FAQ
Does using a referral code cost me anything?
No. The rebate share is funded out of the referrer's commission, not charged to you — using a code can only reduce your fees, never increase them.
Can I add a referral code to an account I already have?
No. Aster's documentation limits referral relationships to new users who sign up through the referral link; existing accounts aren't eligible retroactively.
How long does the rebate last?
The referral relationship is valid for 365 days by default from the date you sign up, per Aster's current terms.
