Extended Fees (2026): 0.025% Taker, Maker Rebates

Rates verified against Extended's official fees, funding, money-market and liquidation pages on 2026-09-10.

Extended has one of the shortest fee pages in this category: a single flat rate for every account, a rebate ladder for large makers, and no volume tiers, staking discounts or token to hold. This page reproduces the schedule as the docs state it, then the costs that sit outside the headline rate — funding, borrowing interest on non-USDC collateral, and liquidation.

Trading fees: flat, both products

"Currently, Extended features a flat fee structure for both perpetuals and spot markets: Taker: 0.025%, Maker: 0.000%." The page adds that "the team reserves the right to update the fee schedule going forward". RWA markets — equities, FX, commodities and indices — state that "trading fees currently follow the same structure as crypto markets, although this may be revised in the future". There is no retail/pro split and no fee tier by volume; the only way to pay less than 0.025% as a taker is the referral discount below.

Maker rebates

Makers earn money back once their share of the exchange's total maker volume, "calculated across both perpetuals and spot markets over the past 30 days", reaches a threshold:

Extended maker rebates by 30-day share of total maker volume
Share of 30-day maker volume Rebate on maker volume
≥ 0.5% 0.002%
≥ 1% 0.004%
≥ 2.5% 0.008%
≥ 5% 0.013%

"Formal enrollment is not required"; rebates "are disbursed daily at 00:00 UTC for the preceding 24 hours", and "a rebate will be paid only if the rebate accrued for the last 24 hours is $10 or greater". At 0.5% of exchange-wide maker volume the ladder is out of reach for an individual trader; it is a market-maker programme, and this site treats the maker rate as 0% rather than negative.

Referral discount

"Invited users receive a 10% discount on commissions for their first $50M in total trading volume", which takes the taker rate to 0.0225% for that volume. Referrers need $10,000 of their own traded volume to create a link and earn 2.5% of the points their referrals generate, not a share of fees. This site has no referral relationship with Extended; the CTA below is the plain official link.

Funding

"Funding payments are charged every hour and are applied to all users with open positions at that time"; close before the hour and nothing is charged. The rate is premium-based with an 8-hour realisation period and an interest component of 0.01% per 8 hours (0.0035% per 8 hours on order-book RWA markets), and each hourly rate is capped by market group:

Extended hourly funding rate caps by crypto market group
Crypto market group Rate cap per hour Impact notional
Groups 1–2 (BTC, ETH, SOL, HYPE) 0.25% $10,000
Group 3 0.5% $5,000
Group 4 0.75% $5,000
Group 5 1% $2,500
Group 6 2% $2,500
Group 7 (pre-market) 2% $500

Order-book RWA markets are capped at 1% per hour, and Prime RWA markets, which have a single price feed, derive funding from open-interest skew instead of a premium. The market groups are the same ones that set leverage brackets on the margin-schedule pages. Extended is not in this site's cross-venue screener, which reads only venues with a verified CORS-open endpoint.

Interest on borrowed USDC

Because wBTC, ETH and USDT count as collateral while every market settles in USDC, an account can run a negative USDC balance covered by other assets. The docs treat that as borrowing from a native money market: interest "is charged approximately every 15 minutes" on a negative USDC balance offset by non-stablecoin assets, but not when the shortfall is covered by XVS vault shares or by the unrealised profit it was withdrawn against. The vault is the lender and passes the interest to depositors as extra yield.

FAQ

Is the maker fee really zero for a normal trader?

Yes: 0.000% for every account. The rebates on top require at least 0.5% of the whole exchange's maker volume over 30 days, so for an individual the practical maker rate is zero, not negative.

Are there volume tiers for takers?

None on the docs read on 2026-09-10. The only taker discount is the 10% for referred users on their first $50M of volume.

How does Extended compare on price?

Its 0.025% taker sits below Hyperliquid's 0.045% base tier and above the 0% retail rates at Paradex and Lighter. The fee comparison and the execution-cost tool put the rate against real book depth.
