Lighter Referral Code (2026): What It Does, and What Lighter Doesn’t Publish

Lighter runs a live referral program, and our link carries the code PERPDEXGUIDE. This page is deliberately blunt about one thing most "referral code" pages gloss over: Lighter does not publish the exact referral discount in its official documentation, so we don’t quote a percentage — the only figures floating around come from third-party sites that disagree with each other. Below is what we can actually verify, and why the benefit is unusual on Lighter specifically. For the venue itself, see our full Lighter review.

Referral offer — affiliate link, disclosed terms verified

Sign up to Lighter with code PERPDEXGUIDE

The link carries the referral (code PERPDEXGUIDE), which registers against Lighter’s in-app “referrals fees saved” feature. Lighter doesn’t publish the exact rate, so we won’t put a number on it — what’s certain is that the code is applied for you at signup, no manual entry.

⚠︎ Risk warning — leveraged derivatives

Perpetual futures are leveraged derivatives. You can lose your entire margin quickly, and leverage amplifies both gains and losses. The platforms covered on this site are decentralized and generally not regulated or licensed in your jurisdiction; they offer no investor compensation scheme. Nothing here is investment advice. Never trade with funds you cannot afford to lose.

Why there’s no discount percentage on this page

On most venues we can point to an official number — dYdX quantifies its referral as a fee-tier boost, Aster documents a rebate split. Lighter is different: its live app shows a "referrals fees saved" counter and its changelog references referral kickbacks, but the exact referee discount and referrer share are not stated in Lighter’s own docs. We checked, and the only specific numbers come from third-party aggregators that don’t agree. Our policy is to publish a figure only when the source states it, so we leave it unquoted rather than repeat a number we can’t stand behind. If Lighter documents the rate later, we’ll add it.

Why the referral matters less here than elsewhere

There’s a structural reason the missing number is less of a loss than it sounds. Lighter’s Standard accounts already trade at 0% maker and 0% taker on every market — a referral fee discount has little to bite on when the base fee is already zero. The place fees actually apply is the Premium latency tier (0.0040% maker / 0.0280% taker before staking discounts). So on Lighter, the fee model itself is the story, not the referral — our Lighter fee breakdown walks through both tiers and the LIT-staking discount ladder.

Where the referral link does carry weight is Lighter’s incentive programs. LIT staking is live (roughly 6% APR at the time of writing, with a three-day unstake lockup), and the Points Season 2 program distributes weekly — signing up through the code simply makes sure any referral-linked credit is attributed from your first session. See the points explainer for how that program actually works, separated from airdrop speculation.

How to activate

The referral attaches at signup: open Lighter through the link above and complete onboarding with your wallet. The code PERPDEXGUIDE is carried by the link — there’s no separate field to type it into afterwards, and, as with most referral programs, it applies to new accounts rather than existing ones.

How the program pays the referrer

In the interest of showing both sides: Lighter’s referral program pays whoever owns the link a share of referred activity — that’s the arrangement behind this page. We’d normally state the exact split, but for the same reason as above, Lighter doesn’t publish it, so we won’t invent one. None of it comes out of your pocket regardless: a referrer’s cut on any venue is paid by the exchange out of fees that would be charged anyway, and on Lighter’s zero-fee Standard tier there’s often nothing to charge in the first place.

Before the referral matters: is Lighter right for you?

A referral is worth nothing if the venue doesn’t fit. Lighter is a zero-knowledge rollup on Ethereum with 0% Standard-account fees, wallet-based onboarding, and a live LIT token — but it’s a newer venue than the majors, and "zero fees" comes with the trade-offs of its Premium/latency model. Our Lighter review covers the architecture and risks, the fee breakdown covers both tiers, and Hyperliquid vs. Lighter puts it head-to-head with the current volume leader.

FAQ

What’s the Lighter referral code?

PERPDEXGUIDE. The link on this page carries it automatically, so there’s no code to type in during signup.

Why don’t you list the referral discount percentage?

Because Lighter doesn’t publish one in its official documentation, and the third-party numbers conflict. We only quote figures a primary source states. If you see a site advertising a specific Lighter referral "discount %", treat it with caution — check it against Lighter’s own app and docs before relying on it.

Does using the referral cost me anything?

No. A referrer’s share is paid by the exchange out of fees charged anyway — and on Lighter’s Standard tier the base trading fee is already 0%. Using the link can’t make your fees worse.
