Past incident: funding-index outage and chain rollback (resolved) — 2026-01-19. On 2026-01-19 a database-maintenance race condition zeroed Paradex’s funding indices, briefly pricing BTC at $0 and triggering mass liquidations; the site was offline for roughly six hours. Paradex rolled the chain back to block 1,604,710 and refunded about $650,000 to roughly 200 affected accounts. The venue has operated normally since — noted here as resolved context for anyone weighing its reliability, not a current outage. ( Paradex post-mortem )

Paradex Fees (2026): Retail Zero, Pro Tiers, DIME

Rates verified against Paradex's official trading-fees and DIME utility pages on 2026-09-10.

Paradex charges by how an order reaches the book, not by who you are. Orders from the web app, or from the API with an interactive token, are Retail and pay nothing. Orders from the standard API are Pro by default and pay a published schedule. This page reproduces that schedule as the docs state it, then the discounts, the options and spot rules, funding caps, and the two charges that only apply in bad conditions.

Retail: 0% on everything, with a speed bump

"Retail Takers and Makers have 0% fees on all products: Perps, Spot and Options." The condition is classification, not account status: "orders submitted without an interactive token are classified as Pro Orders by default", and "if an account exceeds Retail rate limits, the account automatically switches to Pro Order behavior and loses access to RPI liquidity". Retail orders carry a 300ms speed bump that Pro orders bypass, and get queue priority and Retail Price Improvement liquidity in return.

Pro: a flat maker fee and a taker ladder

Makers pay a "flat 0.003% (0.3 bps) fee on all Perps and Spot maker orders", charged on trade notional. Takers pay by 14-day volume tier:

Paradex Pro taker fee tiers by 14-day volume
Tier 14-day volume (USD) Taker fee
Pro 0 0.045%
Pro 1 ≥ 1M 0.042%
Pro 2 ≥ 5M 0.039%
Pro 3 ≥ 10M 0.037%
Pro 4 ≥ 25M 0.035%

Discounts stack on top, but "Pro taker fees cannot go below 1.75 bps (0.0175%), regardless of total discount".

DIME discounts

Two levers, both documented on the trading-fees and DIME utility pages. Paying fees in DIME gives "a flat 40% discount on your Pro taker fees", deducted from the spot DIME balance at the DIME/USDC mark price at transaction time. Staking DIME gives "tiered Spot & Perps taker fee discounts, up to 30%", across named tiers from Base to Diamond; unstaking carries a cooldown. Both apply to Pro taker fees, which are the only fees a retail-classified order never pays anyway.

Options and spot

Retail options and spot orders are 0% both sides. Pro options fees are "capped at 12.5% of the option price (premium)", and Pro spot follows the perps schedule: the flat maker fee and the same taker tiers. Dated options settle in USDC at 08:00 UTC on a 30-minute TWAP of the spot oracle.

Funding

Funding is impact-based and continuous: "the funding rate is recomputed every 1 second", published as a smoothed rate over an eight-hour reference period. It is capped per eight hours at "2% (BTC/ETH/SOL), 0.5% (TradFi), 5% (other)". It pauses "when the oracle is in maintenance, the USDC price is invalid, or the market is halted". Paradex is not in this site's cross-venue screener, which reads only venues with a verified CORS-open endpoint.

FAQ

Can I get the retail zero through the API?

Yes, with an interactive token; without one, API orders are Pro by default and pay the schedule above. Exceeding Retail rate limits also switches the account to Pro behaviour.

What is the lowest Pro taker fee possible?

0.0175%. The top tier is 0.035%, and the DIME payment and staking discounts stack, but the docs set a floor of 1.75 bps regardless of total discount.

Were Pro rates always published?

This site's comparison pages said "Pro tier not published" from July 2026; the docs read on 2026-09-10 publish the full schedule, including a maker fee "effective July 3". The corrections log records the change.
