SoDEX Fees (2026): Tiers, SOSO Discount, Funding
Verified against SoDEX's trading-fees, funding, liquidation and deposit-configuration pages and its perps API on 2026-09-24.
SoDEX publishes a full schedule: volume tiers, a token discount, maker rebates, a funding formula and a per-asset withdrawal table. This page restates each. One caution first: a separate "Fees" page in the same docs still quotes testnet rates (0.05% taker, 0.02% maker on futures); the tier schedule below, dated from 13 March, is the current one, and the public API carries tier-0 rates of 0.0004 taker and 0.00012 maker on every market.
Trading fees: seven tiers
"Fees on SoDEX are determined by your rolling 14-day volume and are finalized at the end of each UTC day." Volume is weighted: "(14D weighted volume) = (14D perps volume) + 2 × (14D spot volume)", and "each user has a single fee tier that applies across all assets and markets".
| Tier | 14D weighted volume | Taker | Maker |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | ≤ $5,000,000 | 0.040% | 0.012% |
| 1 | > $5,000,000 | 0.036% | 0.010% |
| 2 | > $25,000,000 | 0.032% | 0.006% |
| 3 | > $100,000,000 | 0.028% | 0.002% |
| 4 | > $500,000,000 | 0.026% | 0.000% |
| 5 | > $2,000,000,000 | 0.024% | 0.000% |
| 6 | > $7,000,000,000 | 0.022% | 0.000% |
Spot runs a parallel ladder from 0.065% taker and 0.035% maker at tier 0 to 0.02% and 0% at tier 6.
SOSO staking discount
"Effective fee = Base fee × (1 - Staking discount)". The discount updates at the end of each UTC day; partial unstaking recalculates it at once, despite the 14-day unstaking period. Staking is done on SoSoValue's SSI Earn page for now, not inside SoDEX.
| SOSO staked | Fee discount |
|---|---|
| ≥ 30 SOSO | 5% |
| ≥ 300 SOSO | 10% |
| ≥ 3,000 SOSO | 15% |
| ≥ 30,000 SOSO | 20% |
| ≥ 300,000 SOSO | 30% |
| ≥ 1,500,000 SOSO | 40% |
Maker rebates
A maker whose "14D maker volume share" passes a threshold swaps the tier's maker fee for a negative rate, "paid continuously on each trade directly to your trading wallet":
| Rebate tier | 14D maker volume share | Maker |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | > 0.50% | −0.001% |
| 2 | > 1.50% | −0.002% |
| 3 | > 3.00% | −0.003% |
Funding
"Funding payments occur every hour", and "the maximum funding rate is capped at 4% per hour". The rate is computed as an 8-hour figure and divided by eight: the average premium index plus a clamp of the interest rate minus the premium to ±0.05%. The interest component "is fixed at 0.03% per day, which is equivalent to 0.01% per 8-hour period". The premium is sampled every 5 seconds against an impact notional of "200 USD * Max Leverage of the specific asset", and the payment uses the oracle price, not the mark price. SoDEX is not in this site's funding screener.
Liquidation costs
- Order-book stage. A liquidatable position is first sent to the public book, and "SoDEX does not charge an additional liquidation fee for this order-book liquidation step". Above 100,000 USDC it goes in 20% slices with a 30-second cooldown.
- Backstop stage. Below two-thirds of maintenance margin the position and its collateral pass to the backstop, and "the maintenance margin is not returned to the trader".
- ADL. If account value turns negative, opposing positions are ranked by unrealised PnL and leverage and reduced. No insurance fund is named.
Deposits and withdrawals
Deposits arrive through the Mirror Protocol as ValueChain tokens; each asset has a minimum, and "any deposit falling below this minimum threshold will result in the loss of those funds". Withdrawals carry a flat fee per asset and chain. A sample from the configuration table:
| Asset | Chains | Withdrawal fee | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| USDC | Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Polygon, Solana | 1 USDC | 5 USDC deposit |
| BTC | Bitcoin | 0.00006 BTC | 0.00005 BTC deposit |
| ETH | Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum | 0.0005 ETH | 0.0015–0.002 ETH deposit |
| SOL | Solana | 0.012 SOL | 0.03 SOL deposit |
FAQ
What does a round trip cost at tier 0?
Two taker fills cost 0.080% of notional, two maker fills 0.024%, one of each 0.052%, before any staking discount; funding adds up to 4% per hour in extreme conditions under the documented cap.
Can staking alone reach zero maker?
No. Staking multiplies the tier's rate by up to 0.6; zero maker needs tier 4 volume, and a negative maker rate needs a rebate-qualifying share of maker volume.
How does SoDEX compare with other venues?
Its tier-0 taker rate sits just under Hyperliquid's 0.045%. The fee comparison lists every schedule with its verification date, and Hyperliquid vs SoDEX weighs the fees against custody.
